Introduction
The Gokyo Lake & Everest Base Camp Trekking is a two-week adventure into the heart of the Khumbu region, offering a perfect combination of mountain scenery, cultural immersion, and high-altitude adventure.
Walk through serene alpine forests of rhododendron, birch, magnolia, pine, and oak while enjoying constant views of towering Himalayan peaks. Explore traditional Sherpa villages and monasteries, enriched with Buddhist heritage and Tibetan-influenced culture.
The trek passes through the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site (1991), known as Chomolungma or “Great Mother” in Sherpa language.
After a short scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the trek gradually ascends through villages, prayer walls, and lush valleys to Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. From there, the journey continues to the magnificent Gokyo Valley, its emerald lakes, and Gokyo Ri for panoramic peak views.
The adventure then crosses the challenging Cho-La Pass, descending toward Everest Base Camp to witness the Khumbu Glacier and Icefall. The trek culminates at Kalapathar (5,550 m) for a close-up view of Everest and sweeping Himalayan panoramas before returning to Lukla for the scenic flight back to Kathmandu.
